IN MEMORY OF JAKE ARCARA, TOWN OF YORKTOWN DPW
Yorktown has lost one of their very young highway workers, Jake Arcara, on September 14, 2022.
He has been working for the Town of Yorktown Department of Public Works since 2017. He was appointed Motor Equipment Operator in April 2022.
Jake was a Lakeland High School graduate, class of 2011. Jake was engaged to be married next year, he was a brother, an uncle, a son and a friend to all who knew him.
His wake will be held at Clark Funeral Home on Monday, September 19th 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Shrub Oak on Tuesday, September 20th at 10am.
The Yorktown Highway Department will be setting up a memorial in Jake’s honor.
The family is collecting funds to help with any expenses the family will now incur due to the accident, including funeral and memorial costs. Any and all donations will help, as losing Jake was a sudden loss. GoFundMe page- https://gofund.me/10f4f3ba

Nestor Lassic, Village of Briarcliff Manor DPW Sanitation Worker
On Tuesday April 26, 2022, Nestor Lassic experienced a medical emergency and passed away while on duty.
Since 1991, Nestor was a dedicated and long time sanitation worker who valued hard work and companionship among his co-workers. Over his time with the Village, he had many positive interactions with the residents and was beloved by all. The patriarch of his family, he never hesitated to help those in need. Nester was a beloved and respected husband, father, grandfather and friend. His wife Sandra, children and many grandchildren survive Nestor and his spirit will live on through them. The family has established a “Go Fund Me” account to help raise money for a proper send off and goodbye the way he deserves. Any donation is appreciated.
