It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of William ‘Bill’ R. Summa Sr., 82, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Bill was born on October 7, 1943 in Port Chester, NY to Evelyn and Vito Summa.

Bill dedicated most of his life to serving the city of Port Chester as the Supervisor of Public Works. He also owned several sporting goods stores and Stateline Stationary in Byram, CT where he met many of his life-long friends. In his retirement, he enjoyed traveling, golf, collecting and cherishing fine wines, and long walks with his beloved dogs Valor and Buddy.

His devoted wife of 59 years, Marie and children Christine Worrell (Kurt Worrell), William Summa Jr. (Tara Summa), and Caryn Kahrhoff (Thomas Kahrhoff) were among those who were blessed to share in his life. He is also survived by his grandchildren Caitlin (Samuel), Caroline, Ryan, Madison, Tyler and Justin, as well as many loving friends and family.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brothers Gerald Summa and Ronald Summa.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025 at 10:00am at St. Clare’s Catholic Church, led by Fr. Nick Zarallack, in North Palm Beach, Florida. Inurnment service will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Royal Palm Beach, FL. We warmly welcome friends and family to join these services in celebration of Bill’s life and legacy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) in Bill’s memory.
